NegrosTHE Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) has been cited for reducing the crime volume from January to November.

Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky commended the NOCPPO headed by Colonel Rainerio M. De Chavez for its feat in making the province peaceful and orderly as possible through various anti-criminality programs.

During a PRO-6 command conference, Col. De Chavez said the total crime volume in the province was pegged at 3,525 from January 1 to November 30 this year, or a drop of 518 incidents compared to the 4,053 incidents recorded during the same period in 2023.

The official said that the Peace and Order Indicator (POI) and Public Safety Indicator (PSI) in the entire province also went down.

He said that their POI was placed at 2,728 or a decrease by 7.34 percent or 216 incidents less during the past 11 months compared to the 2,944 last year.

Under POI are the 8-Focus crimes that contributed a 37.65 percent decrease or 250 cases lower from 664 last year to only 414 this year.

All incidents under the 8-Focus Crimes decreased during the 2024 period compared to that of last year’s, the NOCPPO director said.
