NCRPOAGENTS of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) under Brigadier General Anthony Aberin have accounted for over 400 targets and confiscated nearly P100 million worth of shabu in Metro Manila since November 26 to date, the Journal Group learned.

The Metro Manila police director maintained that their all-out operations against illegal drug trafficking will be centered on the observance of human rights and police operational procedures as they target the main source of shabu and other prohibited drugs in the metropolis.

Last November 26-27, NCRPO operatives conducted 40 anti-drug operations which led to the arrest of 69 suspects and the recovery of nearly P2.7 million worth of shabu.

The Northern Police District headed by Colonel Josefino D. Ligan accounted for nearly P507,000 worth of the drugs; the Eastern Police District under Col. Villamor Q. Tuliao confiscated over P975,000 worth of shabu; the Manila Police District headed by Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas C. Ibay getting some P304,000 worth of the prohibited drugs; the Southern Police District under Brig. Gen. Bernard R. Yang accounting for at least P718,000 worth of shabu; and the Quezon City Police District headed by Col. Melecio M. Buslig Jr. confiscating over P170,000 worth of the same substance.

Brig. Gen. Aberin last week also reported the arrest of over 60 top drug targets in Metro Manila following a string of anti-narcotics operations which resulted in the confiscation of nearly P70 million worth of shabu.

One of the suspects was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by undercover officers from the Caloocan City Police Station along King Faisal, Phase 12, Brgy. 188.

Aberin said the suspect yielded some 3,420 grams of shabu valued at P23,250,000.

NCRPO officers also arrested 69 targets in separate anti-drug operations in the metropolis which yielded some P2.6 million worth of shabu.

Col. Tuliao said they have confiscated some P900,000 worth of shabu in Marikina City.

Col. Ligan said operatives of the Valenzuela City police force arrested five drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in the Maysan area which led to the seizure of some P408,000 worth of shabu and over P23,000 worth of marijuana vapes.

Aberin said that their 24-hour operation from December 3-4 likewise resulted in the arrest of 71 targets and the recovery of an estimated P20 million worth of shabu. The drugs recovered include some 3.047 kilos of shabu.

All arrested suspects are now facing criminal charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Brig. Gen. Aberin.

The official commended his men for their relentless campaign against illegal drugs even as he called on the community to continue supporting their anti-criminality campaign.
