NCRPONATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Major General Sidney S. Hernia has asked Metro Manila residents to use their new ‘Anti-Crime Super App’ system to report any crime.

The NCRPO’s advanced “Anti-Crime Super App” system allows citizens to report crimes instantly through a simple tap on their mobile phones, the official said.

With an easy-to-navigate interface, users may click “report” and select specific types of illegal activities. The app will then automatically notify the nearest police unit for rapid response.

The official said the app, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year, was developed by his team in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Maj. Gen. Hernia said the digital initiative aims to strengthen crime reporting and public safety in the entire metropolis.

The initiative, he said, centers on the E-Gov Super App, which is now in the testing phase at various NCRPO district offices. It aims to improve police response times and public engagement in reporting criminal activities.

The official also said that their commitment to technology doesn’t stop with the app as it also extends to their internal operations.

He said that they have already embraced a fully digital, paperless reporting system within their ranks.

According to Maj. Gen. Hernia, their Electronic-Daily PNP Personnel Accounting System (e-DPPAS) is a state-of-the-art tool that enables efficient tracking of police personnel through real-time data.

By replacing manual check-ins with a streamlined, digital log-in using a quick photo verification, e-DPPAS fosters greater accountability, efficiency, and professionalism across all NCRPO offices, he said.

The fully-centralized and digitalized crime reporting and modernized police operations across Metro Manila was launched by Hernia as part of their advanced digital information program.

The official said the program is part of their digital transformation program focused primarily on having an advanced crime reporting and paperless system in the metropolitan police force.

Maj. Gen. Hernia said these initiatives of leveraging technology is part of their continuing effort to have a more efficient and technology-driven approach in policing.

Through the PNP Law Enforcement Reporting and Information System under the E-Gov Super App., the NCRPO chief said they have launched the fully-centralized and digitalized crime reporting system.

The official said that more than 15,000 Metro Manila residents, including members of different homeowners’ associations, are now trained to navigate the digital platform for reporting crimes that aids law enforcement in responding to any urgent needs swiftly.

The “Anti-Crime Super App,” developed by the NCRPO with the help of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, is now being tested in Manila, Quezon City, Eastern, Southern and Northern Police Districts and will be fully operational by the end of this year.

The official also initiated a paperless reporting system across all police units in the metropolis through the Electronic Daily PNP Personnel Accounting System to free up more time for officers to focus on their primary duties.

He said that these innovations are part of a more significant effort to modernize the NCRPO operations, making it more responsive and adaptive to the needs of the public.

“Through these advancements, we are not only improving our police response times but also ensuring a competent police force and safer Metro Manila,” the official said.

Maj. Gen. Hernia has also ordered all his officers and men to wear their proper uniforms while on their way to home and office and vise-versa to further enhance the NCRPO’s visibility and community presence.

This policy, Maj. Gen. Hernia explained aligns with international standards and visibly reinforces NCRPO’s role as a steadfast presence for peace and order in Metro Manila.

“Uniforms symbolize our commitment to public safety and security. Even when off-duty, our officers’ presence is a reassurance to the community,” he said.

The official also highlighted the NCRPO’s unwavering commitment to elevating public safety and optimizing police operations across Metro Manila.

He said that these innovations are expected to significantly boost NCRPO’s crime-fighting capabilities significantly, fostering a safer environment and strengthening public trust in law enforcement.
