NCRPO tracker teams capture ex-cop, another most wanted

TWO most wanted persons in Metro Manila led by a dismissed policeman were captured by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office in their hiding places in the metropolis on Saturday, NCRPO director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo said.

The Metro Manila police chief identified the suspects as Eduardo Salamat Jr., a 46-year old former Police Officer 1 and Richard dela Fuente Agagad,41.

In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., Brig. Gen. Estomo said members of the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division-Regional Special Operations Group under Colonel Romano V. Cardiño and Lieutenant Col. Wilfredo V. Sy arrested Salamat on the strength of a warrant for robbery issued by Judge Thelma Bunyi-Medina of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 32 on June 25, 2014.

The NCRPO operatives arrested the dismissed cop in Coliseo de Manila, Vistas Street in Tondo, Manila in coordination with the Manila Police District Raxabago Station.

On the other hand, Agagad, tagged as the 2nd most wanted person in NCR was arrested inside the Veterans’ Compound in Bgy. Western Bicutan in Taguig City by the NCRPO RID-RSOG operatives on the basis of a non-bailable warrant of arrest of murder issued by Judge Rodrigo Pascua Jr of the Caloocan City RTC Branch 122 last September 19.

The two suspects are now being held at the NCRPO-RSOG lock-up facility in Camp Bagong Diwa pending their presentation to court and issuance of jail commitment order, said Brig. Gen. Estomo.

“The arrest of the two suspects is part and parcel of our S.A.F.E program, in which the NCRPO members are Seen, Appreciated and Felt by the people as we continue to ensure their safety and protection against criminal elements, including most wanted persons 24/7,” the official said.
