NCRPO S.A.F.E. Alert app now 24/7
NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major General Jonnel C. Estomo, on Saturday, described as “successful” their new S.A.F.E. NCRPO App Alert system, which is working 24 hours a day to provide immediate assistance to Metro Manila residents.
“Gaya ng lagi kong sinasabi, habang ang ating mga kababayan ay tulog, ang kapulisan ng NCRPO ay laging gising upang siguraduhin ang kanilang kaligtasan. At ang naging implementasyon ng S.A.F.E. NCRPO App Alert ay isa lamang sa ating paraan upang panatilihin ang katahimikan at kaayusan sa Kamaynilaan at upang mapabilis and pagtugon ng ating kapulisan sa anumang uri ng insidente sa pamamagitan ng isang daliri lamang,” the official said.
Estomo said that the S.A.F.E. NCRPO App Alert in Metro Manila aims to provide the fastest, effortless, and dedicated police alert hotline for all the barangays and very soon to churches, mosques, and other similar institutions within the metropolis.
From January 13 to last Thursday, the different NCRPO Tactical Operation Centers have received and monitored 35 reports through the app alert.
Since the alarm was immediately relayed, the command center was able to attend to all the reports and dispatched personnel to provide police assistance to the public.
Estomo said that among the 35 reports, seven were responded to by the Northern Police District (NPD), six by the Eastern Police District (EPD), two from the Manila Police District (MPD), four from the Southern Police District (SPD), and 16 from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
However, the official said that they discovered that nine of these reports were mere mistakes or the callers had “unintentionally” pressed the alert button.
The official emphasized that the S.A.F.E. NCRPO App Alert was developed to sustain their goal of ensuring that police officers in Metro Manila are “Seen, Appreciated and Felt because of their Extraordinary police service.”
“Makakaasa ang ating mga kababayan sa patuloy na implementasyon ng App Alert na ito upang agarang matugunan at marespondihan ang kanilang pangangailangan. Pinapaalalahanan din po natin ang lahat, na sana ay huwag gawing biro o iwasan ang paggamit ng app na ito kung hindi naman talaga emergency o nangangailangan ng agarang tungon mula sa ating mga kapulisan nang sa gayon ay hindi nasasayang ang ating resources,” he added.
