AGENTS of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) hauled over P775 million worth of shabu and other illegal drugs during the 1st 100 days of their chief, Major General Felipe R. Natividad, the Journal Group learned yesterday.

The drugs worth P775,875,162.55 to be exact were confiscated by the NCRPO as a result of 3,226 anti-narcotics and other anti-criminality operations it launched since Maj. Gen. Natividad was installed as the Metro Manila police director last March 1.

From March 1 to last June 8, the Metro Manila police specifically its five districts: the Northern, Eastern, Southern, Manila and Quezon City Police District went all-out against illegal drug trafficking and abuse.

As a result, the NCRPO accounted for around 113.6 kilograms of high-grade shabu valued at P771,938,550; 31.4 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves worth P3.7 million; 8 Ecstasy tablets valued at P13,600; an 28 grams of cocaine worth P148,400.

Maj. Gen. Natividad congratulated the SPD headed by Brigadier Gen. Jimili L. Macaraget, the QCPD under Brig. Gen. Remus B. Medina, the MPD led by Brig. Gen. Leo M. Francisco, the NPD headed by Brig. Gen. Ulysses G. Cruz and the EPD under Brig. Gen. Orlando O. Yebra Jr. for their series of anti-drug accomplishments during the period.

He said that a total of 5,908 known drug personalities were arrested during the period and are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“NCRPO’s campaign against illegal drugs is one of our top priorities as we have witnessed the undeniable relationship of drug proliferation and criminality in the community. Indeed, we have established a lot of gains in our first 100 days and the public can expect a more invigorated and systematized launching of operations geared to curb illegal drug activities in Metro Manila.” said Maj. Gen. Natividad.
