NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin on Wednesday announced the arrest of three top drug targets in Metro Manila and the confiscation of nearly P16 million worth of shabu and dried marijuana leaves in separate anti-narcotics operations this week.

Two of the suspects described as a 40-year-old Chinese national and his 28-year-old female cohort were arrested in a sting on Road 10 in Barangay NBNN in Navotas City on Monday which led to the confiscation of some 2.226 kilos of shabu valued at P15.140 million, the official said.

Brig. Gen. Aberin said members of the Navotas City Police Station and the Northern Police District under Colonel Josefino D. Ligan conducted the successful operation following days of surveillance and undercover work triggered by a tip from an informant.

Recovered from the suspects’ possession were four zip-locked plastic bags and two plastic sachets containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine,’ a digital weighing scale and the buy-bust money topped by three marked P1,000 bills.

The NPD also impounded the suspects’ vehicle.
