FOURTEEN more known drug personalities in Metro Manila were hauled to jail by agents of the National Capital Region Police Office in a series of anti-narcotics operations this week which resulted in the confiscation of nearly P2.5 million worth of shabu, NCRPO director Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said yesterday.

Four of the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Agustin in Novaliches, Quezon City around 6 p.m. last Monday by members of the NCRPO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

Brig. Gen. Nartatez said that recovered from the suspects identified as Melvin Puralan,46; Bemichael Arabis, 32; Franceen Opena, 29; and Ivy Biscarra, 38, were nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated 307 grams of shabu valued at P2.087 million and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

The official said the suspects’ Mitsubishi Montero and a motorcycle were also impounded.

On the same day, seven other known drug targets in the metropolis were arrested during separate anti-drug operations which led to the recovery of 30 grams of shabu worth P204,000.

On Wednesday evening, members of the Taguig City Police Station arrested Jeanie Dugay, 47; and her daughter Eunice,29, after they conspired to sell drugs to an undercover officer in Bgy. Ibayo Tipas.

The suspects yielded six plastic packets containing an estimated 25.5 grams of shabu worth P173,400.

Another operation on Liwayway Street in Bgy. Sta. Ana, Taguig City, yesterday resulted in the arrest of Marvin Lorica, 27, after he yielded an estimated P170,000 worth of shabu during a routine anti-criminality check, said Southern Police District director, Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano.

All arrested suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
