NCRPO agents jail 10 metro’s most wanted men
NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director, Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin on Saturday announced the capture of all Top 10 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) in Metro Manila amid their stepped-up effort to account for all lawbreakers in the metropolis.
Five of the arrested suspects were facing non-bailable rape cases while four were wanted for murder, Brig. Gen. Aberin said.
The official described the arrest of the 10 as a ‘decisive victory against criminality’ and said they were hauled to jail as a result of the NCRPO’s unrelenting ‘intelligence-driven’ anti-crime drive.
The NCRPO chief has ordered all five NCRPO district directors and special operating units to track down perpetrators of heinous crimes in the metropolis who continue to evade the law this year.
He said that it could be done through ‘focused and unrelenting tracking mechanisms which employ both conventional and advanced intelligence operations’ strategy.’
One of the jailed suspects was an alias ‘Ryan,’42, the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder issued by a Caloocan City court on November 11, 2024 and tagged as the Top 1 MWP in Metro Manila. The accused was captured by agents of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit under Colonel Josefino D. Ligan last Monday.
A 2nd identified as alias ‘Jennifer,’ a 44-year old male wanted for three counts of statutory rape thru sexual assault in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child abuse law was tracked down in his hiding place in Legaspi City in Albay.
A 3rd with the alias ‘Dudong,’ 22, a most wanted rape suspect described as the 9th MWP in NCR and the Top 1 MWP of the Quezon City Police District was arrested by QC Police District operatives under Col. Melecio M. Buslig Jr.
Alias ‘Tintin,’ a 19-year-old man wanted for murder and tagged as the Top 2 Regional MWP was arrested by Manila Police District operatives under Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas C. Ibay in San Andres Bukid, Manila.
A 5th with the alias ‘Bugoy,’ a murder suspect tagged as the Regional 3rd MWP and the 3rd MWP in the NPD list was arrested in Caloocan City while the 6th, one alias ‘Marlon,’ the 8th Regional MWP and the 3rd MWP in the list of the NPD was apprehended in his hiding place in Caloocan City where he was wanted for murder.
The 7th with the alias ‘Marlon,’ a 30-year-old man wanted for rape and multiple child abuse raps was arrested in General Trias City in Cavite by an NCRPO tracker team. The suspect was described as the 8th Regional MWP.
Another with the alias ‘Julio,’60, listed as the QCPD’s Top 5 MWP and NCRPO’s Top 10 MWP was arrested on the basis of a warrant for frustrated murder in Q.C. while the 9th identified as alias ‘Emer,’44, described as the 5th Regional MWP was arrested in Parañaque City where he is wanted for two counts of statutory rape in relation to RA 7610.
The 10th identified as alias ‘Peter,’22, the subject of a warrant of arrest for statutory rape, sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness was arrested by members of the NCRPO Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Caloocan City.
Brig. Gen. Aberin commended all NCRPO operating units and law enforcement agencies behind the capture of the 10.
