THE National Bureau of Investigation – National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) arrested an estafa suspect in an entrapment operation in Pasay City for alleged Estafa.

On March 19, 2024, NBI-NCR received a complaint from a Malayasian national alleging that the suspect represented herself that she can help in the process of voluntary deportation of the complainant as she has many connections with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in exchange for a sum of money.

The suspect was allegedly able to collect P110,000 from the complainant for the deportation and was continuously demanding P70,588.00 as bribe money to lift the latter’s blacklist record.

On the same date, operatives of NBI-NCR planned and conducted an entrapment operation to apprehend the suspect.

The complainant and the suspect agreed to meet in a condominium in Pasay City to hand over the demanded money. While counting the entrapment money, NBI-NCR operatives immediately approached the suspect and announced her arrest.

Subject was presented for e-inquest proceeding before the Office of the City Prosecutor, Pasay City.
