THE City Government of Navotas bagged the highly coveted Seal of Good Local Governance Award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

It also received recognition as top 2 Compliant LGU for the solid waste management cluster of the Manila Bay Clean-up Rehabilitation and Preservation Program, and third in the city category for Manila BAYani Awards and Incentives 2020.

Furthermore, it earned the Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco thanked Navoteños for their support to the city government.

“The active participation and constant support of our people contributed greatly to the success of our projects and programs, and the achievement of these awards. They inspire us to continue giving the best service they deserve,” he said.

Under the SGLG, Navotas passed the four core assessment areas, namely, financial administration, disaster preparedness, and social protection, and peace and order.

It also underwent assessment in sensitivity program, health compliance, sustainable education, business friendliness, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, and youth development.

“The SGLG is the fruition of all our efforts to deliver quality public service to the people. May this motivate us to further promote the best interests of our people with greater passion,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.

The city has also conferred the seal in 2015, 2017, and 2019.
