Navotas distributes tablets for Special Education Learners
NAVOTAS CITY Mayor John Rey Tiangco led the distribution of 312 tablets on Friday afternoon for Special Education Learners residing in the city.
Aside from tablets for Special Education learners, Mayor Tiangco also turned over 500 tablets for Grade 1 to 12 students studying at the public schools in Navotas.
“Naniniwala po tayo sa kahalagahan ng edukasyon sa pagtupad ng mga pangarap ng ating mga kabataan. Kaya sisikapin nating patuloy na makapagsusulong ng mga proyekto at programang mag-aangat pang lalo sa kalidad ng edukasyon para sa mga Navoteño,” Mayor Tiangco said in his speech during a simple turnover and distribution ceremony.
It can be recalled that at the height of the pandemic on January 2021, Mayor Tiangco, who was then representative in Congress for the lone district of Navotas City, donated 350 cellphones for the “Tutor a Learning Child” (TLC) and “Support Our Students” (SOS) programs.
The TLC is a joint project of Cong. Tiangco with the DepEd-Navotas aimed to assist K-12 learners who do not have anyone to guide them through the modular lessons, have reading difficulty or have no gadget for home-based learning, while OSO is a donation drive to support the needs of K-12 students.
