Navotas bags Gawad Kalasag Seal
THE City of Navotas has once gained recognition as Beyond Compliant in the Gawad KALASAG Search for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Humanitarian Assistance—marking its fourth time to receive such prestigious award.
The Kalasag seal highlighted the city’s exceptional efforts in implementing proactive disaster risk reduction strategies and providing essential assistance during disasters and emergencies.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco expressed his gratitude and pride for the award, attributing it to the collective efforts of the city government, local stakeholders, and Navoteños.
“This award reflects our unwavering commitment to building a safer and more resilient Navotas. We dedicate this achievement to every Navoteño who continues to work hand-in-hand with us in fostering disaster preparedness and community resilience,” Tiangco said.
The Gawad KALASAG Search for Excellence in DRRM and Humanitarian Assistance is the country’s premier recognition program for stakeholders excelling in disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation, and humanitarian initiatives.
Qualified entries for the Gawad KALASAG Seal underwent a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the inter-agency Regional Validation Committee and Regional Selection Committee from June to August 2024.
