Nartatez leads surprise drug testing of NCRPO officials
NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office director Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Thursday led the surprise drug testing of Metro Manila police officials in an effort to ensure a ‘drug-free’ NCRPO.
The NCRPO chief said he ordered the random drug testing of all regional staff, the five NCRPO district directors and their chiefs of police and station commanders amid their stepped-up internal cleansing program.
“This is particularly aimed at ensuring that all officers and men of the NCRPO are free from drugs,” Nartatez said.
The official reiterated that the surprise drug test reflects one of the 5-Focused Agenda of Philippine National Police chief General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.
Under the program, the PNP aims to strengthen its internal disciplinary mechanism to prevent and address corruption among its peers.
It also promotes transparency in police operations and ensures that members of the police force will adhere to the highest ethical standards.
“I will not tolerate scalawags in NCRPO, especially those who are involved in illegal drug activities.
Sinisiguro kong may kalalagyan kayo at patuloy ang NCRPO sa paglilinis sa aming hanay para sa tapat at marangal na serbisyong publiko,” Nartatez assured the public.
