Nartatez, 3 others get permanent positions
PHILIPPINE National Police chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil has approved the new designation of Major Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. as The Acting Deputy Chief for Administration of the 232,000-strong police force.
Nartatez, a member of Philippine Military Academy ‘Tanglaw-Diwa’ Class of 1992 assumed the PNP’s no. 2 position last October 9 and will earn his 3rd-star or the rank of Lieutenant General with his new standing in the organization.
Gen. Marbil also designated Colonel Frankie C. Candelario as Acting Director of the PNP Intelligence Group and Col. Josefino D. Ligan as Acting District Director of the Northern Police District which keeps peace and order in the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela.
Both officials used to be the Officers-in-Charge of the PNP-IG and NPD respectively.
At the same time, he also named Col. Rex Arvin T. Malimban as Acting Deputy Director of the elite PNP Special Action Force. Malimban used to be the PNP-SAF Chief of Staff.
Gen. Marbil also designated Brigadier Gen. Ramil T. Montilla as the OIC of the PNP Headquarters Support Service following the retirement of Brig. Gen. Radel DL Ramos last December 30.
Candelario and Malimban are both members of PNP Academy ‘Kapanalig’ Class of 1997 while Ligan belongs to PNPA ‘Kaagapay’ Class of 1996. Brig. Gen. Montilla is a member of PNPA ‘Tagapaglunsad’ Class of 1993 while Ramos belongs to PNPA ‘Patnubay’ Class of 1995.
