AN anti-narcotics operation conducted by agents of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) at two areas in Pasay City on Friday afternoon led in the seizure of over P10 million worth of dangerous drugs smuggled from the United States and Canada, a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. said.

PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) Director Brigadier Gen. Narciso D. Domingo said that the drugs were found inside five parcels recovered by NAIA-IADITG operatives at the CMEC located along Domestic Road in Pasay City and FedEx Cargo Warehouse at the NAIA Complex.

Domingo said that the first parcel with a US waybill number was declared as “Ozark Trail Sleeping Bag” and shipped by one “Korbin Benton” of Pasadena, California, USA, to a certain “Henry Navarro” of Pasay City.

The parcel contained two plastic bags with suspected dried marijuana leaves.

The 2nd parcel shipped by one “Daniel Sanders” of Audio Technica LTD with an address in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, contained two boxes with large professional headphones, which turned out to be concealing five plastic pouches with dried cannabis.

The parcel was consigned to one “Marco S. Romualdo” of BF Homes, Parañaque City.

The 3rd parcel was declared as “Other merchandise” and shipped by a certain “Bin” of Northridge, California.

Consigned to a resident of Almanza Uno in Las Piñas City, the parcel contained 17 vape cartridges containing 17ml of yellow substance suspected to be liquid cannabis with a market value of P850; 18 plastic bottles containing some 2,700 grams of gummies candy infused with CBD; and six bottles with droppers containing 180ml yellow substance suspected to be liquid marijuana worth P9,000.

The 4th parcel shipped by one “Romnick Perez” of Anaheim, California and consigned to a certain “Nick Jedrick Perez” of Barangay Tuding Itogon, Benguet, was found with 14 self-sealing plastic packets with marijuana leaves and seeds.

The 5th parcel shipped by a certain “Janilla Casamello” of Noordern, Netherlands to one “Charito Casamello” of Manuyo Uno, Las Piñas City was found to be containing two plastic pouches with 21 improvised pouches with suspected ecstasy tablets.

The confiscated prohibited drugs were valued at P10,166,550. They were placed under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) headed by Director General Moro Virgilio M. Lazo, who has ordered a thorough background check on the consignees and shippers of the recovered illegal substances.
