
MWP for murder, child abuse poses as lawyer, held
A FAKE lawyer found to be wanted for non-bailable murder and child abuse cases was arrested by members of the Antipolo City Police Station on Friday, according to a report to Rizal Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Felipe B. Maraggun.
The suspect with the alias “Attorney” was wearing a jacket with the logo of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines when arrested along NHA Avenue in Zonta Ville, Barangay San Isidro past 1 p.m. Friday, said Antipolo City Police Station commander, Lieutenant Col. Ryan L. Manongdo.
The official said that “Attorney” is listed as the No. 3 Regional Level Most Wanted Person (MWP) in Calabarzon until he was tracked down in his hiding place by officers from the Antipolo City Police Station, with the assistance of members of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station and the PRO4-A Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
Manongdo said that the suspect is the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Maria Beatrice Caunan of the San Mateo, Rizal Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 75 on November 9, 2023.
The official also said that the suspect has another warrant for three counts of acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, issued by Judge Joel Bantasan of the Antipolo City RTC Branch 72 on August 14, 2023, with a P200,000 recommended bail.
The suspect is now being held at the Antipolo City police jail prior to the issuance of an official jail commitment order on him by the court.
