MSU prof cheats death in ambush, kills 2 attackers

A PROFESSOR at the Mindanao State University escaped death in an ambush try in Datu Odin Sinsuat , Maguindanao.

Datu Sinsuat police chief Lt. Col. Rommel de la Vega said MSU-Maguindanao professor Daud Kadon sustained a gunshot wound on the left side of his body after engaging his assailants in a shootout on the highway in Bgy. Kurintem at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kadon was able to kill his attackers.

“The victim was hit but was able to draw his firearm and fired back at the suspects, also hitting them,” de la Vega said.

The slain suspects were identified through their IDs as Montanao Silungan Usman of Talitay and Abdul Ambel Mama of Datu Sinsuat towns.

The professor was in a Toyota Fortuner on way home when fired at close range by the suspects riding-in-tandem on a motorcycle.

Kadon and the suspects were brought to the hospital, where the assailants were declared dead on arrival.

An investigation is ongoing.

Last September 14, motorcycle-riding suspects shot dead two students inside the MSU campus in Marawi City.

Police identified the victims as physical education student Hamza Rauf and civil engineering student Zinal Omar, both third year college students.

The motive for the killing is being investigated.
