MPDL formally open
THE Office of Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto, with the approval of Manila Mayor Dr. Honey Lacuna Pangan, organized the Manila Police District League (MPDL) Sports Fest, in partnership with the Manila Police District (MPD).
The sports fest kicked off last Sept. 7 with a festive motorcade of balloon-adorned trucks that carried participating basketball players from 14 Police Stations that started at the Quirino Grandstand, passed by the Manila City Hall, Quiapo Church, and the MPD Headquarters in U.N. Avenue, before winding up at the San Andres Sports Complex for the formal opening program of the MPDL Sports Fest.
In the opening program, which had for its most honored guests Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Nieto among others, the mayor in her message, thanked the officers and men of the Manila Police force or Manila’s Finest, led by P/BGen. Andre Dizon, for their support, said that the MPDL sports fest will be a good opportunity to show the prowess of Manila’s Finest, not only in securing the city’s peace and order but in sports as well.
