INIHAYAG ni PBGen. Leo M Francisco, hepe ng Manila Police District (MPD), na buo ang suporta niya at lahat ng kapulisan ng MPD ang bagong presidente ng Universidad De Manila (UDM) na si Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos Tria.

Sinabi ni Francisco na sisiguraduhin niya na pananatilihin ng MPD ang peace and order pati na ang kalinisan ng Maynila upang masiguro na ligtas ang mga mag-aaral at mga kawani ng UDM.

Layunin naman ni Tria na manguna ang mga mga mag-aaral ng UDM, kasama na ang mga susunod na henerasyon ng Maynila, hindi lamang sa bansa kundi sa buong mundo.

Si Tria ay dating accreditor ng Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA), dating assessor ng Philippine Quality Award, pangulo ng Asian Federation of Student Leaders, at nagtrabaho bilang reporter at segment producer ng GMA News noong 1999-2000 at RPN 9 News noong 1998-1999.

“My goal and aim for UDM is to be not UDM just for Manilenos but for the Manilenos to move out so it’s going be topnotch Manilenos for the country and for the world,” ani Dr. Carlos Tria.

“We will make sure to provide quality education so that our students will be globally compentitive. It’s not just a training on competency in terms of the curriculum but including the soft skills,” dagdag pa ni Tria.

Sinabi ni Tria na malaki ang kaniyang pasalamat kay Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso sa tiwalang ibinigay sa kaniya.

Nagpasalamat din si Tria sa buong Konseho ng Lungsod dahil sa suporta na ipinagkaloob sa kanya.

“The support is really overflowing. It’ssomething that we can really feel be it in terms of the budget and all other aspects in terms of passing of ordinances to make sure that we are recognized by the Commission of Higher Education,” ani Tria. Nina FRANCIS NAGUIT & JON-JON REYES
