CABANATUAN CITY – Authorities on early Tuesday morning intercepted a suspected “motornapper” who engaged operatives in a gunfight after a brief chase which resulted in his instantaneous death, police here said.

Provincial police information chief Lt. Franklin Sindac said the slain suspect, a resident of Barangay San Roque, Bongabon, was personally identified by his live-in partner.

Investigation showed the suspect was aboard a blue Rusi 125 motorcycle when he was spotted by mobile patrol teams from the SWAT-Cabanatuan PNP, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit in Bgy. D.S. Garcia at 2:00 a.m., November 1, 2022.

When flagged down, the suspect opened fire, forcing the SWAT PNP team to fire back, resulting in the suspect’s death, said Caballero.

Recovered at the encounter site was the stolen Rusi motorcycle, a cal. 45 pistol, two spent shells for cal. 45, and three fired cartridges for cal. 9mm pistol.
