BONGABON, Nueva Ecija – The long arm of the law finally caught up with a 57-year-old man tagged as a most wanted person, with an arrest warrant for rape, following his arrest in Aurora province on Thursday afternoon.

Nabbed was alias “Pilo,” a tricycle driver, of Purok 6, Bgy. Reserva, Baler, Aurora, who immediately went into hiding after a local court in Nueva Ecija issued an arrest warrant for him in December 2024.

Municipal police head Major Alrick A. Erana said the suspect’s arrest was jointly carried out by members of the Bongabon and the Baler, Aurora police at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Warrant officers implemented the operation on the basis of an arrest warrant for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act issued on December 20, 2024 by Presiding Judge Lody Q. Tancioco of the Regional Trial Court Branch 40, Palayan City, with no bail recommended for the accused’s temporary release from detention.

Erana said his men immediately coordinated with the Baler, Aurora police after manually receiving a copy of the suspect’s arrest warrant on March 4, two days before the suspect’s actual arrest.

The arrested suspect is now locked up in detention in this town for proper disposition.

The arrest of alias “Pilo” came three days after a 34-year-old man tagged as the town’s top most wanted person was arrested for a rape case in Bgy. Nilombot, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan on March 3.
