Most wanted member of drug, robbery-holdup syndicate nabbed

A MOST wanted member of a notorious robbery-holdup and drug trafficking syndicate operating in Metro Manila was arrested by operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office at the NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City last Sunday, NCRPO director Major General Jonnel C. Estomo said yesterday.

Romeo Patalinghug Jr. alias ‘Jun-Jun Ugis/Inggo,’34, was arrested on the strength of a warrant for rape by sexual assault issued by Judge Phrincess Bajarias-Hermogeno of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 6 on May 16, 2022.

Described as a member of the Lucky Bertiz Criminal Gang which was included in the list of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Intelligence, the suspect was arrested by a tracker team from the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division-Regional Special Operations Group under Colonel Romano V. Cardiño, the NCRPO chief said.

According to Maj. Gen. Estomo, members of the NCRPO-RSOG led by Lieutenant Col. Wilfredo V. Sy had been hot on the trail of the suspect until a tip from an informant led them to the whereabouts of the accused.

Estomo said that the suspect and his cohorts are known for their involvement in robbery, ‘Akyat-Bahay’ and illegal drug activities in Makati, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Parañaque cities and other nearby cities in Metro Manila.
