MORE lawmakers are throwing their support to the leadership of Speaker Martin Romualdez as well as to the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

In separate statements, Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr., Leyte Rep. Richard Gomez and Quezon City Rep. Franz Pumaren said as the country is facing a health crisis and economic recovery, it is crucial for the membership of the House to rally behind House leadership to immediately enact legislation vital to the survival of our people.

On Monday, at the opening of the 19th Congress, House solons elected Romualdez as the 24th Speaker of the House while Zamboanga City 2nd District Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe was elected Majority Leader and former President now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was voted Senior Deputy Speaker.

For his part, Gomez, a former Mayor of Ormoc City, said he is both enthusiastic and excited to see how the new administration executes different programs and projects.

“ I laud him for his detailed economic recovery plan, which puts a premium on sustaining infrastructure programs, particularly former President Duterte’s BBB master plan, and instituting reforms and improvements in the agricultural and tourism industries as primary drivers in stabilizing the country’s fiscal condition,” Gomez said.

Pumaren expressed optimism that these legislative measures of Marcos will be approved under the tried and tested leadership of Speaker Romualdez.
