More Pfizer vax coming to PH

MORE shipments of US-made Pfizer vaccines are set to arrive today at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Davao International Airport and Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Air Hong Kong DHL flight from COVAX facility.

The One Stop Shop of the Bureau of Customs pre-cleared the shipment of 607,230 doses of Pfizer vaccines consigned to the Department of Health-Manila and a separate shipment of 102,960 doses will be delivered to Davao and another unspecified thousands doses of Pfizer vaccines to be delivered in Cebu.

The 607,230 doses of Pfizer vaccines for Manila will be immediately transported to the PharmaServ Express cold storage in Marikina City to maintain its required temperature prior to distribution.

Malacañang, through Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, said on Monday that almost three million more Pfizer and Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines procured by the government will arrive this week.

Roque said 813,150 doses of Pfizer vaccines will to arrive today while another two million doses of China’s Sinovac will be shipped on Thursday.

Over the weekend, additional 326,400 Moderna vaccines arrived in Manila, with 224,400 of these shots bought by the government and 102,000 doses purchased by the private sector.

He said some 11,391,969 Filipinos are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

“We expect the number of people getting the vaccine to rise as supplies continue to arrive,” Roque said.
