WITH the deliberation set for the P6.352 trillion national budget, a former government official said that now is the time to highlight to lawmakers to increase funding for overall sports development, to generate more gold-winning athletes

Atty. Nicasio Conti, former Commissioner of the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission, and former Maritime Industry Authority Officer-In-Charge and now Capstone Intel Corp., said now two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo showed that Filipinos can go toe to toe in the grandest sports spectacle of them all — the Olympics.

“Carlos Yulo’s success underscores the potential of our athletes when given adequate support and resources. To bring more gold and glory to our country in the future, it is imperative that we invest more in sports development programs, facilities, and training. This will not only enhance our athletes’ competitiveness but also foster a culture of excellence in Philippine sports,” Conti said in urging the government to increase its funding for overall sports development.

Atty. Conti praised Yulo’s dedication, hard work, and perseverance, which have culminated in this historic victory.

“Carlos Yulo has once again proven that Filipino athletes can compete and excel on the world stage. His accomplishments serve as an inspiration to all aspiring athletes in the Philippines,” said Conti.

Capstone Intel Corp remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote the growth and development of sports in the Philippines.

The company believes that with increased government funding and support, Filipino athletes can achieve greater heights and continue to bring honor to the nation.
