CABANATUAN CITY — A mobile tourism app designed to help boost the local tourism industry has been launched in Nueva Ecija, reputedly the first of such kind to be put up by any local government unit in the country, it was announced.

Atty. Jose Maria Ceasar C. San Pedro, provincial tourism officer, said the mobile tourism app showcases the must-visit, must-eat and must-try tourism destinations, accommodations, restaurants, pasalubong stops and places to stay in the province.

“The long wait is finally over. The official tourism app of Nueva Ecija is now available for download via Google Store. It is the first and only tourism app that is available through iOS (i-Phone Operating System) and android devices,” said San Pedro.

He thanked Gov. Aurelio M. Umali and Vice Gov. Emmanuel Antonio M. Umali for their all-out support to his office in launching the new mobile app which serves as the official digital tourism brochure and directory of the province.

San Pedro said its putting up was hinged on the “Nueva Ecija, Never Ending” tourism mantra designed to encourage domestic and foreign travelers to add the province to their “bucket list” and discover its so-called “hidden gems.”
