THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) received Friday sunglasses donated by Essilor Vision Foundation for its traffic enforcers in recognition of their duties, especially during this summer season.
MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said the donation from the Essilor Vision Foundation was initiated by former MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos, who chaired the agency for a year.
During the turnover, Artes thanked the Essilor Vision Foundation for their donation, which would benefit the traffic personnel who work under the summer season’s scorching heat.
“We thank the Essilor Vision Foundation for supporting our on-duty traffic personnel. This donation would help shield their eyes from the intense glare of the sun while performing their duties this summer,” said Artes.
The MMDA chief said the agency is grateful to all its private partners for their support and donations, particularly those aimed at improving the condition of its employees.
Along with their sunglasses, the MMDA also distributed caps to alleviate the summer heat’s discomfort and potential health hazards.
