MMDA bans small trucks on EDSA, Shaw Blvd

STARTING Monday, May 24, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will re-impose the ban on light trucks on EDSA and Shaw Boulevard.

In its advisory, the MMDA Public Information Office (PIO) said that under the uniform light trucks ban, trucks which have a gross capacity weight of 4,500 kgs. and below are prohibited to traverse EDSA from Magallanes, in Makati City up to North Avenue in Quezon City, both northbound and southbound, from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Shaw Boulevard (Mandaluyong City and Pasig City) from 6 to 10 a.m. and from 5 to 10 p.m.

MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos said the uniform light trucks ban shall be enforced from Monday to Saturday except Sundays and holidays. A violation of the regulation carries a P2,000 fine.
