WHAT lies ahead in sports in 2022 with the country still battling the COVID-19 pandemic?

What pro sports are allowed to resume under Alert Level 3 and what are the newest health and safety protocols needed before the PBA and other professional sports can restart?

What are the country’s chances in the coming Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam on May 12-23?

Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra and Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Chairman Steve Hontiveros will provide the answers during the “Sports On Air Weekly” program on Friday, Jan 21.

Mitra is expected to talk about the PBA, which is still waiting for approval of the inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for a planned restart next month under a strict bubble setup, and other pro sports under GAB supervision.

Hontiveros will also discuss the coming POC General Assembly and other issues affecting local sports.

The weekly session will start at 10:30 a.m.

Leading the weekly round-table discussions are People’s Tonight sports editor Ed Andaya, SOA moderator-host Ernest Leo Hernandez, Bulgar sportswriter Gerard Arce, Philippine News Agency sportswriter Ivan Saldajeno and Sports Corner PH host Gab Ferreras.

Sports On Air Weekly is produced by Lightweight Solutions, a leading digital advertising company, and shown live on SOA Facebook page and YouTube channel and Sports Corner PH Facebook page.
