TEAM Isko Moreno on Thursday held the first “ISKOmustahan Digital Blue Wave Caravan” where thousands of millennial supporters and volunteers had the chance to interact and communicate online with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso and his team from Aksyon Demokratiko.

The highlight of yesterday’s digital event was the launching of the campaign website tayosiisko.com which officially went online during a virtual meet and greet between Moreno and his running Dr. Willie Ong and their volunteers. The website is expected to be the face of Mayor Isko’s presidential campaign on the internet.

Speaking to more than a thousand youth volunteers attending the launch via Zoom, Moreno took the opportunity to thank supporters of his presidential bid, his running mate, and their senatorial slate.

“Maraming salamat lagi sa inyong paghahanda, mga ginagawa simultaneously sa buong Pilipinas. Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo. Lagi tayong diretso sa tao,” said Moreno.

“Alam ko, most of you, kayo ang gumagastos. Pera ninyo, pinag-ipunan ninyo, pinaghirapan ninyo, ginagastos niyo sa amin. Oras ninyo, ginagastos ninyo sa amin. Effort ninyo ‘yan. Someday, the only thing that I can do in return ay di ko kayo ipapahiya,” Moreno added.

Present during the virtual meet and greet is Moreno’s running mate Dr. Willie Ong and senatorial bets Moro civic leader and women’s rights advocate Samira Gutoc, former Quezon City councilor Jopet Sison and radio host and entrepreneur Carl Balita.

Acting as hosts during the virtual meet and greet, which was also aired on Moreno’s official Facebook page, was his son, teen actor Joaquin Domagoso, and teen actress Mikee Quintos, both contract artists of news and entertainment network GMA-7.

“Sa lahat sa inyo diyan thank you for your time and effort, tosgas (gastos) na naman kayo sa bandwidth. But anyway, we are very happy you’re there and supporting Doc Willie and I, and our three senatorial candidates. Maraming-maraming salamat lagi sa inyong mga paghahanda, mga ginagawa simultaneously sa buong Pilipinas,” Moreno said.

With the elections still less than six months away, Moreno advised the party’s volunteers and supporters to continue the fight and strengthen their emotions particularly when dealing with online bashers and naysayers who spread hate posts or false information against them.

“It’s a marathon. Ano pa tayo, ilan buwan pa tayo Doc? Six months pa ‘no? That’s almost 200 days. Kaya tuloy-tuloy lang. Ang lagi kung bilin dumeretso kayo sa tao. Always go back to the people, magparami tayo,” Moreno said.

In dealing with bashers, Moreno reminded all their volunteers and supporters to immediately block social media bots and trolls who create a toxic environment within the social media world.

Meanwhile, when dealing with persons participating in online discussion forums who are not supportive of his plans and programs for the country, Moreno asked volunteers and supporters to continue to reach out to them so they can be enlightened and eventually become believers.

“Ngayon ‘yung iba naman dahil di ka lang kursunada tolerable naman ‘yan kasi this is democracy. As long it’s a real person then try to reach out. Kaya sabi ko nga sa inyo, kayong mga volunteers when you do the comment, you share ang content namin ni Doc Willie, ng mga senador, try to reach out to the people,’ Moreno said.

Ong said it’s important for their supporters and followers to just ignore what they are saying and focus their efforts in helping them achieve their goal of winning in next year’s elections.

“Ang bashing, pinakamasakit sa mga influencers. Dati wala akong bashers,16 million followers hundred percent masaya. Nung na-meet ko si Isko ‘yan nangyari, 90 percent nagalit sa akin, grabe.

Pero, kahit na ganon na nagalit sila alam ko naman eh, dahil ako eh tumatakbo tinitiis ko. Minumura ako, inaaway ako, walang problema. Kasi ang goal ko naman tulungan sila,” Ong explained.

Balita, who joined the activity via Zoom, said people can use social media as a powerful tool to bring about change. “Sa gitna ng ingay at gulo sa social media, manatili tayong positibong mga mamamayan na sama-sama para sa pagbabago at pag-unlad ng bayan,” he said.

Sison thanked all the volunteers, especially the youth, for the time and effort they are giving to them so that more people will have an idea on what they want to achieve for the country in case they emerge victorious in the polls.

Gutoc, on the other hand, said she is a witness on how people gravitate to Moreno and the need for humility and service and action.

“Bilis kilos, bawat segundo may maisalba. Bawat isa sa atin ay naniniwala, bawat isa sa atin ay boluntaryo. I honor you the volunteers. Huwag tayong mawalan ng loob kahit hindi tayo makakumbinse. I stand witness that this 2022 will be vital, the youth action and youth vote ay critical,” Gutoc said.
