CONTINUING operations by the National Capital Region Police Office to account for all wanted persons in Metro Manila last week resulted in the arrest of 91 lawbreakers in the southern part of the metropolis, all of them facing various criminal offenses in court with one of them found to be hiding from the law over the past 25 years.

According to Southern Police District director, Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, arrested by his men from November 2 to 8 were 16 Top Most Wanted Persons or TMWPs, 26 Most Wanted Persons or MWPs and 40 Other Wanted Persons or OWPs.

The official said that the Pasay City Police Station made the most number of arrests with 25 followed by the Muntinlupa City and Las Piñas CPS with 16 and 14 apprehensions respectively.

He said that in Muntinlupa, one ‘Nervin,’ 32, was arrested by the local police on the strength of a warrant for robbery issued by Judge Leandro Calalo of the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court Branch 256 in 2014. A P224,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused.

In Pasay, the local police apprehended one ‘Shawn,’18, who was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The suspect’s arrest was ordered by Judge Jehan Sampao-Hassiman of the Pasay City Family Court Branch 11 last year.

On the other hand, Parañaque City policemen arrested one ‘Jose,’26, the subject of a warrant for violation of RA 9165 issued by Pasay City Judge Hassiman on October 12, 2023; one ‘Nikko,’ a man ordered arrested in 2020 by Judge Marie Grace Javier-Ibay of the RTC Branch 194 for violation of RA 9262 with bail set at P72,000; and one ‘Rodolfo,’54, the subject of a warrant of arrest for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and homicide issued by Judge Madonna Echiverri of the Quezon City MTC Branch 41 in 2008 with a P30,000 recommended bail.

Brig. Gen. Yang said that the Las Piñas City police also apprehended one ‘Praning,’40, the 10th most wanted person in the city.

In Quezon City, three more wanted persons fell into the hands of authorities one after the other, QC Police District officer-in-charge Colonel Amante Daro said yesterday.

Arrested were Ronnie Guaves, 58, of Brgy. Parado Dingras, Ilocos NOrte; Carlo Torres, 36, of Bgy. Batasan, and Jaymon Pacino, 26, of Bgy. Pinyahan, all in QC.

The Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) under Lt. Col. Leonie Ann Dela Cruz also placed behind bars Pacino, its number 10 most wanted person sought for robbery charges, last Sunday.

“Ang matagumpay na pagkakaaresto ng mga Most Wanted Persons na ito ay nagpapatunay sa aming dedikasyon at determinasyong ilagay sa kustodiya ng kapulisan ang sinumang may pagkakasala sa ilalim ng batas kahit saanman sila naroon,” he added.  By Alfred Dalizon and Joel dela Torre
