Metro Manila’s 81 most wanted arrested
EIGHTY-ONE wanted persons in Metro Manila were arrested by agents of the Southern Police District during a week-long manhunt operation, officials said yesterday.
SPD director, Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang said the November 10 to 16 operations saw his men serving warrants of arrest issued by different courts in the cities of Makati, Taguig, Pateros, Pasay, Mutinlupa, Las Piñas and Parañaque and the municipality of Pateros.
The official said the operations were part of their commitment to ensure public safety and uphold justice by tracking down individuals who have been hiding from the law for extended period, some of them wanted a decade ago or more.
One of the arrested suspects identified as alias ‘Albert’ has been the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for rape since 2013 until he was arrested by the Taguig City police.
Another with the alias’ Radzak’ was the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder with no bail recommended by a Taguig City court while a 3rd identified as alias’ Ronaldo’ turned out to be the subject of a 2019 warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Pateros police also apprehended one ‘Andrea’ who was wanted since 2015 for violation of the anti-violence against Women and Their Children Act while two others identified as alias’ Ricky’ and ‘Jose’ were arrested on the basis of a warrant for murder issued in 2016.
