THE Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reported that the customers across its franchise areas affected by power outages due severe tropical storm Paeng has climbed to 2,243,212 as of Saturday.

Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga said: “We ask for our customers’ patience and understanding since we could not give a definite time on when service will be restored. According to Meralco, some 626,343 customers in Metro Manila, and nearby areas Laguna, Quezon, Batangas, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan and Pampanga are still experiencing power interruptions.

“Paeng” likewise caused power outages in the Visayas region namely Marinduque, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Burias Island.

“Our crews are working round the clock to restore power at the soonest possible time,” Meralco added.

Meralco urged customers to report power outages and other concerns, customers through its Facebook and Twitter accounts or by texting the following numbers: 09209716211 (Smart) and 09175516211 (Globe).
