Member of crime group held for gun in Batangas

A 34-YEAR-OLD active member of a criminal group was arrested by joint operatives during the implementation of a search warrant in Malvar, Batangas Thursday morning.

Malvar Municipal Police Station (MPS) investigator Cpl. Christian P. Agne said the suspect is identified as Anthony Precilla y Pecayo, a member of Andal Criminal Group under the Coplan “Cattle,” single, a watchman of Bgy. Pantay Bata, Tanauan City, and is currently residing at Bgy. Bilucao, in Malvar town.

Agne said between 5:20 to 6:30 a.m. on November 25, combined personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Unit, BPPO, and Malvar MPS led by PLT Adolfo C. Andrada under the direct supervision of PMAJ Neil Christoper C. Gaspar implemented a search warrant against the suspect in his residence in Bgy. Bilucao for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The warrant was issued by Judge Charito M. Macalintal-Sawali of the Regional Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 66, in Tanauan City, Batangas dated November 23, with the utilization of two Philippine National Police issued body-worn cameras that led to the person’s arrest.

Police confiscated one Cal. 45 Colt pistol with serial no. 310157 loaded with one live ammunition, one magazine, and six live ammunition for cal. 45.

Likewise, the extraction of the recorded video coverage to external media storage was done and witnessed by the seizing officers, and the suspect and pertinent documents are being prepared for filing of appropriate criminal charges.
