A man who owns a haunted museum in England maintains that one of his exhibits is very much the real deal.

There is something inherently creepy about old dolls, with their dead eyes, fixed expressions and vintage clothing – leading many to associate them with spirit possession and paranormal activity.

Movies such as Chucky and Annabelle, which feature haunted and even killer dolls – certainly haven’t helped to dissuade such impressions and there is even a market for vintage, haunted dolls that sees some people make considerable sums of money selling them to collectors on eBay.

One such collector, Craig Longson, claims to own the single most haunted example in the entire of the UK – a particularly creepy looking doll known as Scary Mary.

Owner of a haunted museum in Stoke-on-Trent, Longson appeared on an episode of British TV show This Morning earlier this week to talk about the doll and his experiences with it.

“As soon as we had her she started being active in our room,” he told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

“She’s been seen many times on CCTV where the chair has span from side to side, the chair has rocked, her eyes have moved and she’s thrown herself out of chair on two different occasions.”

“She lights up lights around the equipment sometimes that she likes to play with.”

Some of the museum’s visitors have also experienced something unusual while around the doll.

“We’ve had four members of the public on a tour here and she was actually on the table in the centre of the room and she was rocking in front of them,” said Longson.

“Another three ladies were having a tour and they actually witnessed her eyes move all the way over to the right. She’s amazing and a great artefact and one of the best I’ve had in all my years of doing this.”
