Mechanic shot dead in QC
A MECHANIC was shot to death in front of his female companion while about to board a jeepney in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim was declared dead upon arrival at the Fe Del Mundo Medical Center.
A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) showed the incident occurred at the corner of Quezon and Banawe Avenues in Barangay Sto. Domingo at around 4 p.m. (February 1).
According to probers, the victim and his female companion were about to board a passenger jeepney bound for Quiapo Church in Manila, where they will attend mass when a lone gunman shot him in the neck.
Police said the suspect was a resident of Bgy. Tatalon fled on foot towards Quezon Avenue.
Bystanders brought the victim to the said hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators recovered a bullet casing from a shotgun at the scene of the shooting.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the suspect’s motive.
