MC driver killed in ambush

A 67-YEAR-OLD man the other day died when a lone motorcycle-riding suspect randomly shot him while driving his motorcycle along the highway in Rosario, Batangas.

According to the Rosario Police who investigated the case, the victim was identified as Emilio Balita.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was seen driving a motorcycle around 8:00 a.m. and was traveling on the highway of Bgy. San Isidro, was suddenly shot several times by an unknown motorcycle-riding assailant.

The culprit according to police findings was wearing a white T-shirt and denim pants.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of the body and was rushed to Christ the Savior General Hospital Inc. in Bgy. Poblacion A, in Rosario, Batangas for medical treatment but died later while the gun-wielded suspect fled onboard on his get-away bike towards Bgy. Putingkahoy, also in this municipality.

Meanwhile, Lemery town authorities the other day reported that they nabbed a businessman in possession of a gun and ammo during the serving of a search warrant in his residence in Bgy. Balanga at 3:00 p.m.

Police said the suspect is a male trader identified as Eduardo Alicpala.

One cal. 38 pistol without serial number loaded with live ammo found in his residence, police said.

The trader is possibly facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
