MC driver dies, back rider injured in collision with truck
A 42-YEAR-OLD driver was declared dead at the hospital and his back rider was severely injured after the motorcycle they were riding accidentally collided with a tractor truck at the national highway in Bgy. San Roque, Bauan, Batangas the other day.
Bauan Municipal Police Station chief Lt. Col Karlos P. Lanusa identified the fatality as Jurlan Rublico y Tomas, with live-in partner and a resident of Sampaguita, while the wounded back rider is 31-year-old Romen Roba of Bgy. Talaga, both in Mabini town.
The suspect was identified as Dioscoro Dongoya y Taroma, 42, married, of Bgy. Prinza, Calauan, Laguna, police said.
The incident occurred at the National Highway in Bgy. San Roque at 9:30 p.m. and was reported by a local resident.
Case investigators P/SSgs Ivan Gucci P. Lavega and Louie Angelo D. Manalo said initial investigations showed that at around 9:10 p.m., a Rusi SC125 motorcycle being driven by Rublico was seen traveling towards Mabini direction when it lost control at the steering handle and accidentally collided with the oncoming tractor head truck with plate No. CAL 4697 driven by the suspect.
Rublico sustained injuries in different parts of the body and was immediately rushed to Saint Baylon Hospital in San Pascual but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Pamella Tenorio, while the back rider was under medical treatment.
Police investigation is ongoing.
