Mayor Oca extends renewal of business permits in Caloocan

CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan signed an ordinance passed by the City Council extending the renewal of business permit from January 20, 2022 to February 28, 2022.

Under City Ordinance No. 0962 Series of 2022, traders and local entrepreneurs were given until February 28, 2022 to settle their business taxes and fees for the renewal of their Business Permit without surcharge, penalty and interest.

Mayor Malapitan explained that due to the rising number of COVID-19 infections in the National Capital Region (NCR), most of business operators and owners were unable to make necessary payments for the renewal of their permits.

The city chief executive said the 10% discount for payment of business tax for the whole year of 2022 is also extended until February 10, 2022.

Earlier, the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) urged the local government units (LGUs) to extend the period of payment for the renewal of business permits and paymet of real property tax until the end of first quarter due to the sudden surge of Covid-19 cases.
