Mayor Lacuna gives P2K cash gift to UDM, PLM grads
GRADUATES of School-Year (SY) 2023-2024 of the Universidad De Manila and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) started receiving on Friday their P2,000 Taas-Noo Manileño Graduation Gift from the City Manila.
Mayor Honey Lacuna said more than 1,800 UDM graduates of SY 2023-2024 received their cash gift through payout while 3,772 from PLM via Landbank for a total disbursement of over P11.1 million.
Mayor Lacuna said she signed Ordinance No. 9068 last August authorizing the city hall to set aside and disburse the necessary funds for the Taas-Noo Manileño Graduation Gift.
Aside from the distribution of cash gift, the mayor said the construction of UDM college campus in Vitas, Tondo is now ongoing and is targeted for completion and opening by 2026. “This campus will serve UDM students coming from all districts of Manila, not just those who reside in Tondo,” the mayor said.
“As Mayor and Chairperson of the Board of UDM and of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, I also take this opportunity to congratulate the most recent UDM and PLM passers and topnotchers of the licensure examinations” Mayor Lacuna stated
“Particularly noteworthy are the PLM results in the Physical Therapy Licensure Examinations wherein our city university earned a 99.44 percent passing rate, with 179 passers, and 4 topnotchers in the Top 10,” the mayor added.
Among those who were included in the Top 10 were Jamie Clarise Confesor Mutuc (3rd), Jericho John Balanay Desbille (5th), Princess Mae de la Rosa Llubit (6th), and Neiman Klyre Calaquian Importante (9th).
PLM also had four topnotchers last August 2024 in the Psychometricians Licensure Examination.
