Martin, bilib sa katatagan ni Lani
IDEYA pala ni Martin Nievera ang titulo ng unang virtual concert nila ni Lani Misalucha na New Day na hatid ng Starmedia Entertainment at Solaire sa The Theatre at Solaire, June 5, 8 p.m., at June 6, 11 a.m.
Sa Zoom mediacon kung saan inamin din ni Lani ang pagkakaroon ng seryosong medical condition, ipinaliwanag ni Martin na naisip niya ang New Day dahil “’yan ang hinahanap ng marami… lahat. We’re all waiting for a new day. Palaging naka-lockdown, palaging may mga acronym na controlled ’yung day mo, ’yung schedule mo. Bawal dito, bawal doon, mag-mask kayo, alcogel. Oh, my God, you know, if I hear another… so the paranoia is very fasionable today. We’re all, talagang, we’re waiting for the new day when we can go out and do what we used to do, when we can hug our parents and grandparents, each other, you know? So that’s one, that’s the most important lesson about new day.
“The other one is because it’s tfc that’s bringing us to you, all over the world, every day is not the same day on tfc. Like for instance, June 5 is actually June 6 here, so it became a way of telling you how we’re all connected. That we’re all after the same mission. And in the case of tfc, they’re responsible to keep us always bringing you something new every day. So it’s a new day. It may not be a new formula because Lani and I have been performing many, many times and I’m looking forward to performing with her again, but the real reason for the title is because that’s what were hoping for, that is going to be a new day.”
Sobrang proud nga ang Concert King sa Asia’s Nightingale dahil sa katatagan na ipagpatuloy ang pagkanta sa kabila ng difficulty sa pandinig dahil sa tumama sa kanyang bacterial meningitis.
Ani Martin, “I’m so proud of Lani. What she is going through and even in more recent things that are happening that she has no control over, being all the way here, she has family and issues in America, that she is able to put on a happy face, put on a little bit of make-up and come up with all of her courage, her spirit. You can break her voice, you can break her ear, but you can never break her spirit and her drive and her love to perform for you, for the people.”
Sa ilalim ng direksyon ni Paolo Valenciano at musical direction ni Louie Ocampo, sinabi ni Martin na malawak ang magiging range ng repertoire ng New Day, mula Broadway to Buble.
Pero sigurado raw na lahat ng kantang gagawin nila ay “songs that represent hope and good days to come.”
“We have to look forward to a new day, everyday. And it’s our role, that’s where we come in, the politicians cannot do it, the geniuses and scientists, they cannot do it, the vaccine, there’s no vaccine for happiness and positivity. Lani has it. Whatever she says she’s caught in whatever have no… her spirit is stronger, her will is stronger and her love to perform for you is… All I can say is that I’m proud of you, Lani. I wish that more people, especially those who are going through so much during this pandemic could learn from the spirit and can be motivated by what Lani is doing,” dagdag pa niya.
