Marbil reshuffles ranking PNP officers

PHILIPPINE National Police chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil has approved the designation of three new Police Regional Office directors in the country and a spokesperson and chief of the PNP Public Information Office to fill-up the vacuum left by the retirement of some senior police officials, the Journal Group learned yesterday.

In his order, the top cop approved the designation of Brigadier Gen. Jean S. Fajardo of PNP Academy ‘Kaagapay’ Class of 1996 as the new PRO3 director in Central Luzon vice Brig. Gen. Redrico A. Maranan who was moved as new PRO7 director in Central Visayas.

Fajardo has been the PNP-PIO chief and spokesperson of the PNP chief since January 2022 and be the first woman to become a Police Regional Office director after becoming the first female PNP spokesperson.

Brig. Gen. Fajardo will be replaced as PNP-PIO chief and PNP spokesperson by Colonel Randulf T. Tuaño, a member of PNPA ‘Patnubay’ Class of 1995 who used to be the erstwhile PNP Finance Service director

Also a former PNP spokesperson and PNPA Class 1995 member, Brig. Gen. Maranan, the PRO3 director behind the successful accomplishments of the Central Luzon police force since last October will be the new Central Visayas police commander vice Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin of PNPA ‘Tagapaglunsad’ Class of 1993 who is now the National Capital Region Police Office director.

On the other hand, Brig. Gen. Roel C. Rodolfo, another PNPA Class 1995 product will be the new PRO9 director in Western Mindanao after leading the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group’s successful mission last year.

Rodolfo will replace Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey M. Masauding of PNPA ‘Sandigan’ Class of 1994 who was named as new PNP Deputy Director for Comptrollership after successfully commanding the Western Mindanao police force since September 2023.

On the other hand, another PNPA Class 1995 member, Col. Elmer E. Ragay, the erstwhile Deputy Regional Director for Operations of the Cordillera Police Regional Office will be the new PNP-AKG director. Ragay used to be a veteran anti-kidnapping official too.

Another PNPA Class 1995 graduate, Brig. Gen. Eleazar P. Matta was plucked out as PNP Drug Enforcement Group director and named new head of the Highway Patrol Group vice his classmate, Brig. Gen. William M. Segun who was designated as Deputy Director of the Area Police Command-Southern Luzon.

Matta will be replaced as PNP-DEG director by his classmate-deputy, Col. Rolando B. Cuya Jr. Meanwhile, another PNPA Class 1995 member, lawyer-Brig. Gen. Wilson C. Asueta was named as new Deputy Director of the PNP Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management.

Col. Melvin G. Napiloy, another PNPA Class 1996 member who used to be the Deputy Director for Administration of the PNP Aviation Security Group was designated as new Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the PRO4-A in Calabarzon region.

Last January 4, Gen. Marbil also designated PNP-ASG director, Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano of PNPA Class 1996 as Officer-in-Charge of the PRO13 vice now retired Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro of PNPA ‘Tagapagkalinga’ Class of 1991 who headed the Caraga police force since last May 2024.

The top cop named Brig. Gen. Christopher M. Abecia of PNPA Class 1994 as OIC of the PNP-ACG. Abecia used to be the PRO4-A DRDA.

The day before, the PNP chief designated Brig. Gen. Roy B. Parena of PNPA Class 1993 as Deputy Director of the Directorate for Police-Community Relations; Brig. Gen. Dionisio B. Bartolome of PNPA Class 1995 as new PRO7 DRDA and Col. Mariano C. Rodriguez, also of PNPA Class 1996 as OIC-DRDA of the PRO11 in Southern Mindanao.

He also named Brig. Gen. Ramil R. Montilla of PNPA Class 1993 as OIC of the PNP Headquarters Support Service following the retirement of Brig. Gen. Radel DL Ramos of PNPA Class 1995 last December 30.

Gen. Marbil has also designated his classmate from Philippine Military Academy ‘Sambisig’ Class of 1991, Lieutenant Gen. Robert T. Rodriguez as the new PNP Deputy Chief for Operations with the retirement last December of their mistah Lt. Gen. Michael John F. Dubria.
