Mapua sweeps BPSU in PUVL

NCAA campaigner Mapua Institute of Technology completed a twinkill over Bataan Peninsula State University in the Philippine University Volleyball League (PUVL) at PCU gym in Malate, Manila.

The Cardinals outsteadied the Stallions, 25-20, 25-19, 30-26 in 61 minutes of play while the Lady Cardinals took down the Lady Stallions, 25-16, 25-13, 25-9 in just 51 minutes in this nine-team tournament organized by Federation of School Sports Athletic Association (FESSAP)

The Cardinals of coach John Michael Millado rode on Benedict San Andres, Ramos, Arjay Peter Sanado and team captain Aizran Florendo in crushing the Stallions and posting their fifth win in six outing for solo third place behind National University and University of Perpetual Help Dalta System.

Middlemen Joseph Yap, Alvin Macadandang and Jan Bawiga also played well as they protected the net against Stallions’ attacks.

In the womens division, the Lady Cardinals of coach Clarence Esteban with Alyana Nicole Ong, Jolina Babiera, Cherie Batac, Grace Cabadin and Trixie Gosol at the helm finished off the Lady Stallions in straight sets.

In the other game, Philippine Christian University outduelled Technological University of the Philippines, 25-21, 28-26, 19-25, 14-25, 15-11, to improve to 2-4 mark.

Asian Institute of Maritime Studies beat PCU, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18, for its second win in five matches. AA
