Manila Mayoral candidate Lopez tops survey
PARTIDO Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) mayoral aspirant Atty. Alex Lopez will win in the mayoral race of Manila City if elections were held today.
This was based on the Original Mata ng Maynila for Charity Media (OMMCM), Inc. survey held in the first, second, third, and fourth districts from January 26 to February 2, 2022 where Lopez emerged as the topnotcher.
Lopez garnered 58% while Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna got 33% and Amado Bagatsing received 10%.
The respondents were asked if elections were held today, who will you vote for mayor of Manila City and why?
Earlier, Lopez, son of former Manila City Mayor Mel Lopez, topped a survey conducted by a tabloid newspaper.
Lopez, a lawyer and successful businessman, expressed gratitude for the support extended to him by the electorate.
“Gusto na ng mayorya ng Manilenyo na maibangon sa kahirapan ang lungsod bunsod ng naranasang pandemya at iba pang problemang taglay nito,” Lopez said.
Lopez underscored the need for Manila City to reclaim its Pearl of the Orient o premier city of the country.
He vowed to regain the glory days of Manila City as the richest city. Manila City is now third in terms of income.
The lawyer also said he would encourage more businessmen to return to Manila City by giving them incentives.
“Higit sa lahat lilikha tayo ng maraming trabaho sa pagbabalik ng mga negosyo, aayusin natin ang peace and order, problema sa trapiko, mas maraming pabahay. Gayundin, tulungan natin ang mga vendor, iangat natin ang kalagayan ng mga barangay, kasama ang mga tanod at health workers bilang mga frontliner,” Lopez said.
Meanwhile, the BBM-Sara tandem is scheduled to campaign in Manila City through a motorcade next week and will begin in Parola or the First District.
