ANOTHER prestigious award was received by the city of Manila, this time from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phil) Inc.

The award was presented to Mayor Isko Moreno at the Manila City Hall by federation President Mukesh Advani and Vice President Lai Tulsiani who said the Indian community recognizes the excellent and exemplary service being extended by the city government to its constituents and visitors.

“We are proud and honored to present this to you for your outstanding leadership,” the federation officers said as they handed over to the mayor the “Golden Peacock Award of Excellence.”

They also told Moreno, who is running for President under the Aksyon Demokratiko party, that Manila is very close to the hearts of the Indian community members who are inspired by the mayor’s style of governance in the city, particularly the cleanup that was done in the entire city and the efforts to address the pandemic.

Moreno thanked the federation as a whole and the Indian community members for the award which he shared with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna and all the officials and employes of the Manila City Hall, saying the achievements being raked by the city is a product of a joint effort by all of them.

“I could not have done all these accomplishments alone, so I am sharing the award with my colleagues and I thank them all for their whole-hearted dedication and support,” Moreno said.

The mayor also assured the federation that their members can do business in Manila in a hassle-free environment, assuring them that ‘ no harm will ever come to you.’

The award , which is the most prestigious being offered by the federation, was formally conferred on Moreno during a virtual gala night held on November 27, 2021 in celeberation of the 70th anniversary celebration of FICCI, a non-government trade association based in India.
