THE city government of Mandaluyong on December 6 announced that it has deployed more than one million COVID-19 vaccines, where Mayor Menchie Abalos congratulated 15-year-old Alvin Fundador of Barangay Mauway as the recipient of the one millionth jab.

At 9:30 a.m., Fundador received his first dose at the Shangri-La Plaza Red Carpet Cinema Vaccination site. He also received a certificate of recognition and gift certificate as souvenirs from the City Government.

Abalos reported that the city recorded only one new case yesterday (December 5), which proves the city’s massive anti-COVID-19 efforts and the diligent participation of the public in following the minimum health protocols effectively work in preventing the spread of the virus.

“I am now reminding those who are eligible to get their booster shots to get it right away,” Abalos said. “The Omicron variant is a new threat but the vaccines we have right now can protect us from it.”

She also encouraged members of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines-Mandaluyong chapter who were present during the flag raising ceremony to help get more people vaccinated by encouraging fellow members and their teenage friends to register at the city’s MandaVax portal (https://mandavax.mandaluyong.gov.ph/).
