AIMED towards improving the quality of online learning among students, Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos last Thursday (September 9) led the turn over ceremony of 10,000 units of tablets to officials of the Schools Division Office to be given to incoming Grade 4 and transferee students in public schools of the city for the school year 2021-2022. The short activity was held at the Addition Hills Integrated School (AHIS).

In addition to the tablets, Abalos also turned over 70 units of 70-inch television sets to Schools Division Office Officer-in-Charge Dr. Romela Cruz, CESE. Their office will distribute the television sets to all public schools in the city as additional equipment for its online teaching curriculum.

Abalos said online classes will have to continue this school year since the pandemic hasn’t ceased and there is a slight increase in COVID-19 cases in the city due to the presence of the Delta variant.

“Providing the proper equipment is part of our continuous efforts to help raise the level of online learning for all teachers and students,” Abalos said.

Mayor Abalos also took the opportunity to encourage teachers and parents to get vaccinated as additional measure to avoid getting severe COVID-19 infection.
