Man stabs triker, shot dead by cop

CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — A man was shot and killed by a responding policeman after he was caught stabbing a tricycle driver Saturday in San Pascual, Batangas.

A report by Batangas Police Director PCol. Glicerio C. Cansilao to Regional Director of PRO Calabarzon (Police Regional Office-Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) PBGen. Antonio C. Yarra identified the victim as Ambrocio Axalan, 48.

The suspect was identified as Rolly Axalan, 45, single, jobless and a fellow resident of Brgy. Ilat North, San Pascual.

Investigation showed the victim was driving his vehicle when the suspect allegedly blocked his path in Brgy. Ilat and stabbed him.

Pat.Jonathan Wee Bacroya, 26, assigned to the Bauan MPS, was driving a motorcycle, saw the incident and tried to pacify the suspect who allegedly kept stabbing the victim.

The cop decided to shoot the said suspect to save the victim’s life.

Ambrocio and the suspect were rushed to the Bauan Doctors Hospital where the latter was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Jenelyn Binay.
