Man shot dead inside nipa hut; ‘sikyu’ found on farm

A MAN was killed after being shot several times by a suspect while sleeping inside his hut in Bgy. Puting Buhangin, San Juan, Batangas the other day.

San Juan Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief Lt. Col. Ferdinand B. Ancheta said the victim was identified as Jesus Ejolen.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was sleeping in a nipa hut around 4:30 p.m. when the suspect arrived and, without any apparent reason, shot the victim several times using a short firearm and quickly fled after the incident.

The victim was rushed to San Juan District Hospital but later died at about 4:50 p.m.

Police are still conducting a follow-up operation for the possible arrest of the suspect.

Meanwhile, Calatagan town police the other day reported that the body of the security guard peppered with bullets in the head and right shoulder was found on a farm at Sitio Puting Buhangin, Bgy. Paradise, Calatagan, Batangas.

Police said the victim was identified as Vicente Tabora Jr., 38-year-old.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was found lifeless, lying on the ground inside the gate of Estancia San Carlo D’Arona Inc. at 6:00 p.m.
